About Sunny Days Academy

The right environment for growing

Sunny Days Children’s Academy was designed to be a caring and comfortable environment that harbors a child’s need to learn at their own pace, have hands-on experiences that encourage self-reliance, and support children both socially and emotionally. It is as inclusive curriculum focusing on language and literacy, math and science skills, gross and fine motor skills, an appreciation for the arts, as well as social-emotional development.

Classrooms, ages and ratios:

Infants room

0-12 months – 1:4 ratio

Our infant classroom provides a loving and nurturing start for your little one. Through gentle routines, tummy time, sensory play, and soft music, we focus on fostering early development and strong attachments. Each day is filled with care, comfort, and communication to ensure your baby feels secure and happy while exploring their new world.

Little Steppers

12 months -18 months – 1:4 ratio

As children take their first steps, our Little Steppers classroom encourages curiosity and confidence. We support growing independence through songs, sensory play, and hands-on exploration. Teachers guide children as they learn to communicate, move, and express themselves in a safe and stimulating environment.

Young Toddlers

18 months – 2 years old – 1:6 ratio

The Young Toddlers classroom is full of energy and discovery. Here, children begin building friendships, practicing routines, and learning through play. Our program blends early language, motor skills, and sensory exploration to help toddlers develop confidence, cooperation, and a growing love for learning.

Older Toddlers

2 years old – 2.5 years old – 1:6 ratio

Older Toddlers are becoming more independent, and our teachers nurture that growth with age-appropriate activities that encourage creativity, sharing, and self-expression. Through art, stories, and music, we help children expand their vocabulary, fine motor skills, and problem-solving abilities in a caring setting.

Preschool 1

2.5 years old – 3 years old – 1:10 ratio

In Preschool 1, children transition into a more structured learning environment where play and exploration remain central. We focus on early literacy, counting, and social-emotional development while encouraging curiosity, kindness, and teamwork through guided group activities.

Preschool 2

3 years old – 4 years old – 1:10 ratio

Our Preschool 2 classroom builds on foundational skills with hands-on learning in literacy, math, and science. Children practice following directions, taking turns, and expressing their ideas creatively. We prepare them for Pre-K with fun projects that inspire confidence and a sense of accomplishment.

Pre-Kindergarten

4 years old - 5 years old + - 1:12 ratio

Our Pre-Kindergarten program readies children for the next big step—kindergarten! Through a rich mix of reading, writing, problem-solving, and science exploration, we nurture curiosity and leadership. Students learn responsibility and teamwork while developing the skills needed to succeed both academically and socially.

Flexible Schedules

Healthy Meals & Nutrition

At Sunny Days Children’s Academy, we believe nutritious food fuels bright minds and happy hearts. Each day, our in-house kitchen provides breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack, ensuring every child has the energy to learn, explore, and play.

Our meals follow balanced, child-friendly menus that include fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and a variety of proteins — all prepared with care and mindful of allergies and dietary restrictions. We encourage healthy eating habits and introduce children to new flavors in a fun, family-style setting that promotes independence and good manners.

Breakfast

We serve a variety of breakfast options. A different one each day. Our usual weekly breakfast consists of cereal with milk, bagels with cream cheese, French toast or pancakes with syrup, and fruit.

Lunch

We make a variety of lunch meals to keep children happy and try not to let lunches get repetitive. For example chicken with rice, spaghetti and meatballs, a breaded chicken sandwich, grilled cheese, hot dogs, cheese quesadillas, and chicken stir fry. Each lunch is served with a side of fruit and veggies.

Snack

After nap, the kids have a snack. We also have lots of options for snack. Nutri- grain bars, pretzels, yogurt, graham crackers, cheese & crackers, and fruit.

At Sunny Days Children’s Academy, your child’s safety is our top priority. We maintain a secure, closely monitored environment where families can feel confident knowing their children are protected at all times.

Our doors remain locked during operating hours, and entry is granted only to authorized parents and staff. The entire facility — including all classrooms and hallways — is under continuous video surveillance to ensure a safe and transparent space.

Our Director and Assistant Director are on-site daily, providing hands-on supervision and immediate response to any safety concerns.

Owner

My name is Victoria Kaminsky, and I am the proud owner of Sunny Days Children’s Academy. My background began in healthcare, where I developed a strong foundation in caring for others and supporting families. Over time, my passion for early learning led me to pursue a career in education. I hold an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and am currently completing my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies. As both an educator and a mother, I understand how important it is for children to feel safe, supported, and encouraged to grow at their own pace. I am blessed with a wonderful husband and two daughters who inspire me every day. My goal is to create a warm, nurturing environment where every child is valued, and every family feels like part of our community.

Director

My name is Alex! I have been working with children for over 25 years. I have my Bachelor’s Degree from Rutgers University in Childhood Studies as well as my p-3 Teaching Certification. I have been working for Sunny Days Academy since we opened in 2013. I started as a teacher, moved to assistant director, and in 2016, I became the director. I always loved teaching, and whether it was babysitting, volunteering at events, or teaching in the classroom, I love being involved in early childcare. I have worked at several centers but have been lucky enough to call Sunny Days home for over 12 years. I am happily married and have a wonderful son who just graduated last year from Sunny Days (he loved it here). When I am not at work, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, crafting, and going on adventures with my family.

Assistant Director

My name is Carol! I am a mother of four beautiful children and have three grandchildren who are the love of my life. I studied child psychology and have been working and teaching children for over 45 years. I have been working with Sunny Days Academy since 2014 when I started as a preschool teacher. I have been Assistant director for the last 3 years. In my spare time I enjoy going out to eat with my family and working on my garden!
